Maruti launches new Swift Dzire at Rs 4.79

For all those who were predicting that the Maruti Swift Dzire CS price will not provide relief to the consumers it may be interesting to know that it is cheaper by Rs Rs 25 to Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000  as it is getting a benefit of paying a reduced excise duty of 10% because of its sub 4m length. On Wednesday India’s leading automobile company Maruti Suzuki India has introduced a compact version of its entry-level sedan, Dzire. So this cheaper model will be at an introductory price that ranges between Rs 4.79 lakh and Rs 7.09 lakh.

As for the design, this new car shares the same platform as the recently launched new Swift. Available in both petrol and diesel options and equipped with 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel engines. The outgoing DZire, was slightly longer with 4.2 metres length and had the price band of Rs 5.05 lakh to Rs 7.40 lakh in the Indian car market. Compact version of Dzire is part of the trend of introducing compact versions of popular models by many leading car makers in the country. The reason for this is that cars up to 4 metres have to pay as 10% excise duty while longer passenger vehicles are charged 22% as the excise duty in India.

This new Swift Dzire CS would be competing some of the popular sedans like Toyota Etios, Ford Fiesta Classic, Hyundai Accent, Mahindra Verito and Tata Manza. The really winning feature of this model is going to be its feul economy rates, its petrol variant would deliver a fuel efficiency of 19.1 km/litre, while diesel DZire would travel 23.4 km for one litre of fuel. Reports are that carmaker along with its vendors has put in more than Rs 230 crore for the new Maruti Swift Dzire CS and the company has also given a very lucrative offer to customers who have booked the older car to shift for the new model.
